Shortened Bio for Younger Audiences
Rosalind Wiseman is committed to learning and living her life according to the principles she believes in, which include admitting when she’s wrong, laughing at herself, and acknowledging that young people are the experts of what it’s like growing up today. She has written eight books about high school and middle school life, one of which, Queen Bees and Wannabees, was the
basis for the movie and musical, Mean Girls, and all of which were edited and critiqued by young people.
Rosalind travels the world speaking on the complexity of leadership, culture, and managing conflict in schools, corporations, and governments. Rosalind is ambitious and has had a lot of professional success, but she has also had her share of disappointments. Rosalind was rejected by her first choice of university yet still had an amazing experience at the college she did attend. She started a non-profit for young people when she was 22 and had to work hard to be taken seriously by policy and educational experts. These experiences led her on the path that brings her here today - recognizing the importance of young people's voices and a determination to bring more dignity into our relationships with each other.
