Dr. Karin Forman Varblow, MD, FAAP, is a board-certified pediatrician with expertise in Behavioral Pediatrics and treating children with Attention Deficit Disorder. After serving individuals as a general pediatrician for over a decade, she opened her own practice to work intensively with families whose children have behavioral issues. Dr. Varblow's undergraduate studies were completed at Duke University in 1989, and she then spent some time studying Social Work at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She graduated from the George Washington University School of Medicine in 1998, where she was a National Health Service Corps scholar. In 2001 she completed her pediatrics residency at INOVA Fairfax Hospital for Children, then an affiliate of the University of Virginia. For the following 2 years Dr. Varblow fulfilled her scholarship obligation at a clinic in Western Maryland, where she was the only full-time pediatrician in a 40 mile radius. Her interest in ADHD and Behavioral Pediatrics has developed into a passion, and her treatment style addresses the unique needs of the patients and their family members. She is invested in working with families to improve their overall function, as well as the individual progress of the patient. As a resident of the DC Metropolitan area for 20 years, she is familiar with an array of available services, and she incorporates as many modalities of treatment as will be effective. Dr. Varblow is a member of CHADD, the national association for Children and Adults with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, and PEP, the Parent Encouragement Program.
