Karen Paz
Karen Botnick Paz is the Director of Programming and Development at The Amit Program. Amit provides special education services and programs to families of children with learning disabilities and/or developmental disabilities. Karen completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology at Tulane University, with a minor in education, and received a degree in Graphic Design from the Portfolio Center in Atlanta, Georgia. She worked as a designer/art director in a corporate marketing department for years, until she used her creative flare to start her own jewelry company, making more time available for her two young children. Once in school, Karen's kids had a range of diagnoses between them, including learning disabilities, ADHD, OCD and Tourette Syndrome. While searching for supports for her children, Karen became a volunteer and advocate, eventually leading to full-time employment. At Amit, Karen has been able to channel her creativity to develop innovative programs and marketing solutions to promote Amit's mission.
