Gene Bell joined Summit Camp in 1999 after 19 years as the founding director of a similar program. With a Master's degree in Special Education from Rutgers University, Gene has over 40 years of experience in special education in both school and camp settings. An accreditation visitor for the American Camp Association (ACA), Gene is a mentor for other recreational professionals. He serves on the professional advisory board of the Learning Disabilities Association of New Jersey, and sub committees with CHADD. He is a trustee of a non-profit Senior housing organization. He and his wife, Sally, have two boys and a dog named Sadie.
