Carrie Heller, MSW, LCSW Founder & Director of Circus Arts Institute. Carrie is a Professional Trapeze Artist and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She has over 35 years experience in the world of circus arts, and over 20 years of experience as a therapist. Carrie served as Director of Clinical Services at The Bridge Runaway Shelter in Atlanta, GA before founding Circus Camp in 1993, which is still thriving today. Carrie took her passion for serving special needs children and established the innovative practice of Circus Arts Therapy(CAT). With CAT, Carrie assesses each child's physical capabilities and designs a series of activities, using Circus equipment, for them to work on individually and with a group. Circus Arts Therapy attends simultaneously to physical, emotional and social aspects of the child's development. Carrie practices Circus Arts Therapy in her private practice in Atlanta.
